Squat Update - Tuesday

Tuesday at the 950 Main squat has been a bit quieter than yesterday. We hope that many of you saw our friend Dwayne Koe on the front page of the Metro paper or that you read the article on page 13 of the Province. We didn't see anything in the Vancouver Sun, so we wrote a letter...

The spirit at the site is still one of thankfulness for being in community on this particular piece of land during this particular week - also a spirit of hopefulness that our social action might motivate those who hold the power to build social housing on this site and the other city-owned sites.

Dave is dreaming dreams of how to beautify the site so as to leave it in better shape and appearance than when we went in on Sunday. Any ideas out there, send them to the new Streams of justice email address streamsofjustice@gmail.com and we will pass them on to Dave.

Lots of people visited the site tonight bringing many gifts. Thanks to all who have come down to stand with our friends without homes and have brought encouragement to the whole squat.

For those who pray, please pray for safety and warmth. Pray that God’s Spirit of hope and peace would continue to fill every nook and cranny of the squat and that God would be delighted with social action from this eclectic band of friends.

Tomorrow we are anticipating a visit from a politician or two AND more rain and wind! Of course it would be great if any of you want to visit.
