Easter Weekend and Beyond

For those of you who were not at the Monday group this week, the action group has put together two events for the weekend.

1. Friday, April 6th, 1-3 pm at the Art Gallery near the Olympic clock

We will gather near the clock with the gallows and continue along the
lines of our Monday night Lenten vigils. We are also going to have a
very condensed version of the play that we did during the course in the
fall highlighting the criminalization of poverty in the city. So, come
and join us for all of it or as much as you can. Rain or Shine.

2. Saturday, April 7, 1-4 pm at the Art Gallery (Georgia Street side)

We are going to have an event that highlights imagination, information
and action. We will have a large sign on which we will have the words
"Imagine a truly civil city...", with words like justice, compassion,
belonging, housing, inclusion, etc. written on the whiteboard. We'll
invite passers-by to participate in contributing to what they might
think a civil city looks like, based on these words. We'll have an art
table present for people to creatively express their ideas.

We will also have an information table with reports, stats and other
information for people to take with them. Finally we will have a letter
writing table for people to participate in sending messages to MLA's
and ministers responsible for housing. We have also invited musicians
to participate in contributing to a postive, festive atmosphere of
anticipating something different in our city. It should be an
interesting and entertaining event. We will not be doing this event if
it is raining. Feel free to call Teresa to confirm if you are unsure
or have any questions (604. 253-1782).

Looking farther ahead, we will not be meeting on Monday, April 9th; and on the following Monday night (April 16th) we will meet at 6:00 pm for a potluck meal together at the Grandview Baptist Church. Let Dave know if you are planning to attend (number above), and what contribution you will be making to the meal.
